5 awesome free Android games

Posted on August 10, 2011 by | No Comments

For the uninitiated those funny square pixelated bar code looking images are QR (Quick Response) codes. If you have a QR bar code scanner on your phone (like Barcode Scanner) you can use it to scan the QR codes, open the URL in your browser, and download the games from the market without having to open up the market app to search for the game.

Angry Birds

Do I really need to introduce Angry Birds? Any of the Angry Birds games (regular, seasons or Rio) are worth your time but be warned the Angry Bird games are like crack. I have heard stories of people calling in to work sick because they have spent all night playing Angry Birds.

Stair Dismount

Not really a game of skill but more a fun time waster. Stair Dismount is a sadistic physics based game where you push rag dolls down stairs, off tall things, through things like an airport xray machine to try and inflict maximum damage on the rag doll. The free version only has two rag dolls and a handful of levels, which is plenty to keep me entertained, but if you want more you can purchase more rag dolls and levels.

Battleship Sci-Fi Lite

You got Sci-Fi in my battleships! AWESOME! Battleship Sci-Fi Lite is the classic battleship games with a Sci-Fi twist, how can it not be awesome? There are a few different modes of play, you can play against the AI, you can even play a friend over a wireless network.

Alchemy

Make over 300 elements out of four basic elements; Fire, Water, Earth and Air. I’m only up to 194 elements. More of a time waster than a game of skill. It’s simple but addictive.

NinJump

Anything with ninjas in it has to be cool right? Right. I’ll have no discrimination of ninjas around here thanks. You play a ninja that runs up a wall with a katana (don’t try it at home or it will end in tears and missing limbs) that you can use to destroy things like birds, squirrels and ninja stars, if you can destroy three in a row then you get a power up. The whole point of the game is to see how high you can run.

What do you think? Have you played any of these games? What games would you recommend? Leave a comment I’d love to know what you think.
