Free desktop backgrounds

The other week I wrote about rotating your desktop background in Windows 7. While Windows 7 comes with a handful of cool desktop backgrounds they will make like bread left out for too long and get stale quickly.
Luckily there are plenty of places on the net to get more desktop backgrounds, one of the best places that I have found is Wallbase and it’s totally free. What I love about Wallbase is that it’s easy to find awesome desktop backgrounds, you can search by colour, keyword, you can refine the search results by screen size (resolution) and you can even browse by tag. If you want some desktop backgrounds for your work PC you can even filter out desktops that are NSFW.
At the time of writing there were 759,563 desktop backgrounds to choose from.
At last count I had 189 different desktop backgrounds all being rotated randomly every 15 minutes.
